The Hyundai Genesis Coupe first came to our shores in early 2009 as a 2010 model. It was a great first entry into the sports coupe segment for Hyundai. Now we have learned that the next generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe will be more luxurious and more aimed at performance.
According to Jalopnik, the new Genesis Coupe will come with three engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder, a 3.8-liter V6, and a new 480-horsepower twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6. And, even more interesting is that the twin-turbo version will be sold under Hyundai’s “N” performance brand, which it announced at the end of 2013.
The next generation Genesis Coupe is scheduled to appear sometime in 2016. In addition to more powerful engine, it is also likely to more closely resemble the actual Hyundai Genesis sedan. This means that it could end up getting a bit bigger, but will also have more luxurious features.
What features would you love to see in the next generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe? Are you excited to see a high-powered performance option?
