Blood Type Racing and Hyundai are going super-powered and street friendly for the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. Blood Type Racing is bringing all the savviness of underground racing vehicles to the new 2014 Genesis Coupe.
The Coupe has the Hyundai 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but this time the engine’s been given a real work over. This engine has an output of 800 horsepower, pumped up with racing performance in mind. It’s also carrying over the regular coupe’s six-speed manual transmission. Though it’s holding onto its roots, the upped horsepower isn’t the only high-powered upgrade on this Genesis. Tires, suspension, and more have all been upgraded for the 2014 Genesis Coupe.
Sam Lee, product manager of Blood Type Racing, said, “It’s easy to add lots of power to an engine, but we engineered all other aspects of the vehicle — cornering and handling, stopping power, and visual appearance — to complement the massive horsepower we’re now getting from the engine.”
Southtowne Hyundai can’t wait to see the power behind this new version of the Genesis. The show dates for this year are November 4-7. For news on Hyundai’s attendance at this show and more, be sure to keep up with our weekly blogs!
The Hyundai lineup seems to be a favorite toy among performance houses. The guys at Bisimoto Engineering regularly tune one of Hyundai’s cars for the SEMA show in Las Vegas—first it was the Elantra GT, then the Genesis Coupe, and this year it’s the Sonata, which it cranked up to a whopping 708 horsepower.
ARK Performance has also got a similar track record. It has tuned Hyundai vehicles for SEMA five times already, and this year chose the 2015 Genesis as the car upon which to perform its magic. Unlike Bisimoto, however, ARK modifies more than the engine.
The exterior has been changed to accommodate larger wheels, and the interior was revised to provide the “opulence of a private business jet.” Combined with a lowered suspension setup, modified front and rear wide bumpers and fenders, a new carbon fiber splitter, a rear diffuser, and AR headlights, the 2015 Genesis AR550 concept looks more aggressive than ever.
And of course, the engine is more powerful. The award-winning Tau 5.0-liter V8 has been injected with an extra 130 horsepower via a Rotrex supercharger. Meanwhile, the new suspension, Nitto Tires, and Brembo Big Brake Kit allow the car to take corners like a proper racecar.
It’s a shame we’ll probably never get to sell the car at SouthTowne Hyundai. We imagine people would come by just to take a look at it!
Car maintenance can be a real pain. You buy your car from a dealer and then you figure you’ll have to go searching all over the place for the best deals on tires, brake pads, and the like. However, thanks to the Hyundai Authorized Tire Center Program, which allows you to buy tires designed just for Hyundai vehicles right from the dealership, all that hassle can now be over.
The Hyundai tire program has already been incredibly successful, selling over 1 million tires. At an average of three tires per vehicle, that’s no less than 333,000 vehicles made safer simply by getting great new tires from an authorized Hyundai dealership.
“Year-to-date, our dealers have experienced more than a 20 percent increase in tire sales when the industry has only seen a five percent increase,” said Mike Knipe, senior group manager, customer satisfaction and service business development, Hyundai Motor America.“This is an important milestone for the partnership. This rapid and sustained success provides a good indication that there will be many more significant achievements in the future.”
Of course, there’s a “catch.” Well, here at SouthTowne Hyundai, we’d consider it more of “another reason to come see us” than a catch. You see, you have to actually have a Hyundai vehicle to make use of this exciting program. Come see us today and we can get you all fixed up!
Hyundai had a record-breaking month this past August, as it reported sales up six percent from last year, to a total 70,003 units sold. This is the fourth consecutive month for Hyundai to have record-breaking sales.
So what about Hyundai is drawing people in so much? Maybe it’s the fact that the Hyundai cars are assembled close by, just over in Montgomery. The assembly plant there has reported that it hit a six-month high in production.
The Sonata was recently redesigned, and customers seem to like it. The Sonata had a 25 percent sales rise from last year. And the Elantra, although it hasn’t seen any redesign, is even outselling the Sonata.
These sales show that Americans are recognizing the quality vehicles Hyundai makes. If you want to discover the cars that people are consistently buying, come check out the Sonata, Elantra and other Hyundai vehicles available at South Towne Hyundai.
Cars.com, one of the biggest and most trusted automotive classified sites, recently published a video review of the redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan. Back in 2009, the very first Genesis won Cars.com’s first best-of award, earning the title of Best Car of 2009. So, are they still fans? You bet!
In the video, car critic Joe Wiesenfelder praises the 2015 model’s new exterior, which is highlighted by a dominant new grille. Inside, he praised the “rich looking” interior (which includes standard leather seating), called the multimedia features (which include an 8-inch infotainment screen) “a high point,” and marveled at what a quiet ride the Genesis delivers, which makes for “a very low-fatigue experience, even on a long drive.”
Compared to pricey competitors, “there’s a lot more value here, as you would expect from Hyundai.” Praise is also given to the Genesis’s great safety features, which earned it a Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which is their highest rating.
“No doubt, it will cause some dropped jaws,” Wiesenfelder says of the redesigned 2015 Hyundai Genesis. If you’re still skeptical that Hyundai can provide great luxury at a low price, stop by South Towne Hyundai and see if we can make your jaw drop.
Thinking a certified pre-owned vehicle is the best way to go? Hyundai’s Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program offers customers a host of benefits and some of the best pre-owned vehicles on the road. According to Vincentric, the Hyundai Veloster and Santa Fe hold the awards for 2014 Best CPO Value in America for their respective segments.
The award-winning vehicles in each category are determined by their lower-than-expected ownership costs, which include depreciation, fees and taxes, maintenance and repairs.
The Hyundai Veloster won the Best CPO Value award for the subcompact coupe segment, while the Santa Fe was named America’s Best CPO Value in the competitive mid-size crossover class.
“Hyundai’s CPO program gives customers an added level of comfort, satisfaction and peace of mind in their vehicle purchase,” said Steve Flood, Hyundai Motor America’s director of Sales Planning and Retail Operations.
“By selecting a Hyundai CPO vehicle, consumers receive $2,066* of added value over a comparable non-certified used Hyundai. Veloster and Santa Fe are both excellent vehicles offering stylish design and functionality for different lifestyles, and as these awards show, great value.”
Stop by SouthTowne Hyundai today and take a look at our selection of CPO vehicles. We may have just the Hyundai for you.
* “$2,066 represents the national value of benefits included in the purchase of a Hyundai CPO vehicle as compared to a non-certified used Hyundai. Since $2,066 represents an average for all Hyundai CPO vehicles sold nationally, individual value received may vary.”
