Women are a bigger part of the car buying market than some people seem to realize. Hyundai, though, recognizes that fact, and has launched a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata campaign that focuses on and celebrates the diverse market of women that shop for cars every day!
The recently launched Hyundai Smarter website focuses on women empowering women. You can find inspirational quotes from famous and important women, videos from women in diverse fields of work and, of course, information about the 2015 Sonata and the driving experience that participants had while driving it. You can also enter the small, daily contests being held as part of the campaign, or the one big contest that includes a trip to the 46th Annual NAACP Image Awards Show for one lucky winner.
“We celebrate the successes and contributions of women. We are proud to launch this campaign, which speaks to the interests of the multicultural women market. The growth of this segment is significant, and it is critical that we address its important needs of safety, reliability and value. The all-new 2015 Sonata is a smart choice — that meets the demands of this market,” says Zafar Brooks, the director of Diversity and Inclusion for Hyundai Motors America.
Southtowne Hyundai is ready to support this new campaign by celebrating women right along with Hyundai – and telling you more about the 2015 Hyundai Sonata. For more information on this campaign and the new Sonata, feel free to stop in!
Every year, Ward’s Auto puts together a 10 Best Engines contest. Though the competition is hot as ever, it looks like the engine found in the Hyundai Sonato Eco, a 1.6-liter turbocharged Gamma four-cylinder, is going to be quite the serious contender.
Ward’s first says that the engine “makes a compelling argument for a hybrid alternative.” The editors at Ward’s understand that this engine’s goal is efficiency, so when it comes to the performance of the engine, they’ve taken that fact into account. And yet, they aren’t at all disappointed with its power capabilities.
The engine “should feel underpowered and sluggish” they say, but that’s not what they found. Rather, the folks at Ward’s found that “the engine is quiet, smooth and plenty powerful, even in Eco mode.” A lot of editors took the Hyundai Sonata Eco for a test drive and “their reviews were favorable.”
With this powertrain, Hyundai has struck a perfect balance between efficiency and power. Just ask Ward’s! And if you don’t believe them, see it for yourself when you test drive a Hyundai Sonata Eco here at Southtowne Hyundai!
When it comes to creating the best luxury lifestyle vehicle, Hyundai knows what it takes. The brand’s flagship Equus sedan recently received the Motorist Choice Award for Popular Luxury Lifestyle Vehicle for the third year in a row.
The awards are based on new vehicle buyers’ satisfaction and the vehicle’s ownership costs. Data from over 92,000 car owners is gathered and analyzed by the AutoPacific and IntelliChoice research firms to create the list of award winners.
“The Motorist Choice Awards are meaningful because they are based on the feedback of new car owners,” said Mike O’Brien, Hyundai’s vice president of corporate and product planning. “This accolade is a further testament to Hyundai’s commitment in creating, developing and delivering products like the Equus that creates a new top tier in terms of customer experience and luxury car ownership.”
We at SouthTowne Hyundai love when our models win awards like this one because they reflect our customers’ opinions of our products. Let us know what you love about your Hyundai!
Blood Type Racing and Hyundai are going super-powered and street friendly for the 2014 SEMA show in Las Vegas this November. Blood Type Racing is bringing all the savviness of underground racing vehicles to the new 2014 Genesis Coupe.
The Coupe has the Hyundai 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but this time the engine’s been given a real work over. This engine has an output of 800 horsepower, pumped up with racing performance in mind. It’s also carrying over the regular coupe’s six-speed manual transmission. Though it’s holding onto its roots, the upped horsepower isn’t the only high-powered upgrade on this Genesis. Tires, suspension, and more have all been upgraded for the 2014 Genesis Coupe.
Sam Lee, product manager of Blood Type Racing, said, “It’s easy to add lots of power to an engine, but we engineered all other aspects of the vehicle — cornering and handling, stopping power, and visual appearance — to complement the massive horsepower we’re now getting from the engine.”
Southtowne Hyundai can’t wait to see the power behind this new version of the Genesis. The show dates for this year are November 4-7. For news on Hyundai’s attendance at this show and more, be sure to keep up with our weekly blogs!
The Hyundai lineup seems to be a favorite toy among performance houses. The guys at Bisimoto Engineering regularly tune one of Hyundai’s cars for the SEMA show in Las Vegas—first it was the Elantra GT, then the Genesis Coupe, and this year it’s the Sonata, which it cranked up to a whopping 708 horsepower.
ARK Performance has also got a similar track record. It has tuned Hyundai vehicles for SEMA five times already, and this year chose the 2015 Genesis as the car upon which to perform its magic. Unlike Bisimoto, however, ARK modifies more than the engine.
The exterior has been changed to accommodate larger wheels, and the interior was revised to provide the “opulence of a private business jet.” Combined with a lowered suspension setup, modified front and rear wide bumpers and fenders, a new carbon fiber splitter, a rear diffuser, and AR headlights, the 2015 Genesis AR550 concept looks more aggressive than ever.
And of course, the engine is more powerful. The award-winning Tau 5.0-liter V8 has been injected with an extra 130 horsepower via a Rotrex supercharger. Meanwhile, the new suspension, Nitto Tires, and Brembo Big Brake Kit allow the car to take corners like a proper racecar.
It’s a shame we’ll probably never get to sell the car at SouthTowne Hyundai. We imagine people would come by just to take a look at it!
